RIA USA 5.0 vs. 5.0E: What’s the Difference?
Posted by Team Armscor on Aug 21, 2025 8 Minute Read
The RIA USA 5.0 turned heads with its innovative recoil system and smooth shooting experience. But for shooters looking for a little more, the 5.0E offers enhancements and accessories that make it the premium version of Rock Island Armory’s flagship — without changing the heart of the gun.
What Sets RIA USA Apart?
Explore the differences between RIA USA and Rock Island Armory's main lineups! Which is right for you?
Slide Design
The 5.0E stands out visually with lightning cuts in the slide, compared to the standard serration cuts on the 5.0. These details give it a distinct look and slightly lighter feel.
Optics
Optics-ready shooters will notice another difference.
“The 5.0E ships with two optics plates, one for RMR and one for RMSC," explained John McClain from Team Armscor. "The standard ships only with the RMSC plate.”
Magazines
While the capacity remains the same, the 5.0E comes better equipped out of the box.
“The 5.0E ships with four magazines, and the standard only ships with two," said John.
Core Performance
When it comes to performance, both pistols deliver the same groundbreaking system.
“The technology’s the same. You get the same recoil system, the same fitment, the same trigger pull, whether it’s the standard or the E,” John said.
Choosing The one for You
For shooters who want the essentials, the standard 5.0 offers all the innovation at a lower entry point. For those who’d rather start fully equipped—with extra mags, dual optics plates, and a refined slide—the 5.0E is ready right out of the box.
As John explained, “Some people just would rather jump in at a lower price point and then add as they go."
For those who want the added extras as soon as possible, the 5.0E is the way to go!
Both the 5.0 and 5.0E showcase RIA USA’s vision for premium firearms. The decision is yours — go streamlined with the 5.0, or step up to the 5.0E for the complete package right from the start.
